We started kart racing in 2016, after I had the pleasure of testing it out several summers in a row a few years back down in Switzerland. The Hunsrückring was the race track we found first and the one we stayed on because we liked it so much. The team was awesome, the track was great and the overall feeling of family between the drivers was something we appreciated a lot, especially during the early days. Unfortunately the track was sold in August 2017 and closed pretty quickly after that. The last weekend we had there was one of the best ever. Everyone came around one last time for a last race, a big party after that and a teary eyed goodbye. Even half a year later I’m still not over the fact, that this beautiful place is now used as a storage area for the neighboring industrial company.
This first shot belongs to my all time favorites and I consider it as one of the best I’ve ever done. It was taken in the morning, as the sun was already up, fighting through the mist of a rather wet and cold Sunday in August. To me it captivates the bitter sweet feeling of the whole weekend perfectly.
